The Advani Garden

The Aykin/Milewski Garden

The Aykin/Milewski Garden

Discover how Beth Advani and her husband removed the grass of her home and created a peaceful park like setting right outside her door. A mixture of trees including Appalachia Redbud, Magnolia and Weeping Blue Atlas anchor what is primarily a spring and autumn garden. Perennials, herbs, sculpture and paths all contribute to the ever changing colors and textures of the Advani garden. “It’s always changing, and always will.”  Tour now.

The Aykin/Milewski Garden

The Aykin/Milewski Garden

The Aykin/Milewski Garden

Evergreens frame this garden refuge, a hidden surprise between Short and Stout Streets. Organic gardens, raised containers, rain barrels, sculpture and signature diamond-shaped plots are features of this oasis. Companion plantings of marigolds with vegetables and herbs add curated color and more, as perennials, annuals and sculpture add layers of dimension. Gardeners Nuray Aykin and Allen Milewski find serenity and refuge strolling through the diamond-shaped plots that provide every bit of their green food during growing season. Tour now.

The Bonnell Garden

The Aykin/Milewski Garden

Ken Bonnell welcomes you to his three season perennial garden.  Patches of milkweed for the butterflies are a feature, as are the sculptures, gnomes, and a truly impressive variety of plants. Textures, heights and colors combine beautifully as you "stroll" the pathways and new vistas emerge.  Tour now.

The Callow Garden

So much to see and enjoy in this parklike setting featuring perennials, edibles, herbs and sculpture. Bird houses, birdbaths, arbors, and more. Plants are tagged for identification. Three pergolas, benches, and all manner of ornamentation tastefully set off the specimens, including Dawn Redwoods and unusual conifers.  Natural arches on the paths, serenity garden, and nooks for rest and contemplation. This garden features evening lighting, as well. Tour now.

The Colonello Garden

The Chuderski Garden

An oasis of different plants of all heights and unusual treasures hidden throughout the garden. The Fotopoulos Garden

The Dickerson Garden

The Fotopoulos Garden

The Fotopoulos Garden

The Fotopoulos Garden

Enjoy this garden of herbs, figs, garden delectables and more. Gardeners Denny and Eileen Fotopoulos have two healthy, productive fig trees (one white, one brown).  Denny provides helpful tips for those who grow figs or have always wanted to do so. The vegetable beds are coming in well, and perennials and annuals add color. Along with roses, this evolving garden also features a large collection of Keyport lilies and irises! Tour now.

The Gress Garden

The Heri-Taylor Garden

The Fotopoulos Garden

The gardens have evolved since the Gresses built the Union Beach home in 1993. Son Brandon and Mom Lori collaborate in this team effort, which features graceful walks and tons of colorful perennials in a welcoming place to refresh and entertain. The “mish mosh” – as Brandon puts it - of colors, texture, and varieties contribute to the tranquility of this welcoming space. They are known in the community for raising money for the Children's Miracle Network by asking for donations to their award winning Christmas decoration display. Tour now.

The Haynes Garden

The Heri-Taylor Garden

The Heri-Taylor Garden

Nate Haynes welcomes you to his small market garden where he employs high density plantings and no-till techniques to create an abundant urban garden that barely needs weeding. This year, Nate was able to harvest through the winter.  You'll be fascinated to hear about his harvesting technique and composting advice. In highly walkable, Keyport, it’s not unusual to see neighbors chatting over the fence with Nate, who teaches and inspires, and shares seedlings from his overflowing greenhouse. Tour now.
