"Public Gardens of Keyport” features an overview of the Borough of Keyport and the gardens of Benjamin C. Terry Park, the Senior Citizens Center, Elizabeth Street Community Gardens, Keyport Free Public Library and the Keyport Historical Society. Take the tour.
Benjamin Terry Park is at the end of Cedar St and Myrtle Ave along the Raritan Bay. It was refurbished a year ago with cornhole boards, picnic tables with embedded board games and new landscaping. You don't need to keep yourself occupied, though. Feel free to relax on the beautiful lawn with vistas of the bay and the sailboats moored at the Keyport Yacht Club. Tour now.
Dedicated to maintaining an organic community garden that provides education and beautification to the community and supplies food for its members, Elizabeth Street Community Garden (ESCG) members maintain the ground, working in a spirit of cooperation and fellowship. Plots are leased annually, affording a safe and attractive environment to people desiring a place to learn and grow edible produce and flowers. The ESCG is managed by the ESCG Committee of the Keyport Garden Club. Tour now.
The grounds of the Keyport Public Library encourages you to "READ" outdoors and in the beautiful surroundings. Can you have more flowers, plants and herbs at a library, than books? We may have to start counting!
The Keyport Historical Society moved into this building after Hurricane Sandy destroyed their prior location by the bay. They honor the Keyport Garden Club every year by maintaining the pollinator center and participating in GardenWalk. Tour now.
Surrounded by tall hydrangeas and native plants, the Senior Citizens Center garden is full of perennials, affording ever changing beauty throughout the season. It is a haven for many in our walkable community. Tour now.
